And...another Thursday into Friday....KSD239.2
So...yes, I know it’s been a few days since I’ve blogged. It’s been busy around here and I just have not taken the time - although it seems like I’ve been fooling around just reading on Facebook.
Robert is taking a “few days off” which means that since he no longer accrues vacation time, no extra money is coming in, and much as I hate to say it, he’s underfoot all the time, in a manner of speaking.
I’m in my home office finishing my second cup of coffee...with sweet cream, of course, and I could be busy at something, but I am simply enjoying the silence right now - or was. Robert slept in this morning, and his first words upon awakening, were “oh, shit...” Always a negative, be it that it’s foggy and cloudy outside (today), or he slept longer than he wanted to, or, or, or...but it’s always a negative beginning in his world. He needs to have something to do.
He wandered into the living room and began yelling at me immediately, because one of the bird feeders had been knocked to the ground. I hadn’t noticed it, so it must have happened just a little bit ago. I cannot help it that the squirrels knock it down. There are ways to correct this but he won’t listen to my suggestions. So...the ranting begins. Much as I’ll try to turn the tide, he will be pissed off about the squirrels for the rest of the day.
So, to head off the negativity in some way, I left what I was doing, and went to the kitchen to wash the dishes from last night, and my breakfast today. We have divided chores around here. He hates to do laundry, and I like to - I don’t like to do dishes, and he doesn’t mind. But, when he’s in a certain frame of mind, he doesn’t do them, or he complains about it. “We need to use paper plates so we can throw them away, we have too many dishes!” There are two of us living here. If the dishes get done after every meal, there are not too many dishes! I would have a dishwasher in a heartbeat, but he says no. Well...someday.....there will be one.
He came grumping to the kitchen about squirrels and needing to do the dishes and stopped in surprise. “YOU”RE doing the dishes?” I lied. “Yep! My hands were cold and this is the fastest way to warm them up!
And, so the day continues. I need to call the guy who came to look at the doors last weekend. They have not yet called to schedule an appointment and I want to see if there is a problem, if he doesn’t want the job, etc. Robert will call the excavator - since the guy seems to think the man is the master of the home *rolls eyes*, I’m just letting Robert deal with him. After all...I hope we don’t have to have many trees excavated from now on!
Onward and upward!
